The man behind the Moffitt Angling System is a retired environmental scientist, a passionate resource advocate and environmental activist, and a lifetime fly angler and fly tier. He built an environmental services company which offered engineering, studies and laboratory analysis both nationally and internationally, and after selling his company to an international consortium, he continued to manage it until retirement.
He has worked tirelessly over the years as an unpaid scientific advisor to a number of advocacy groups promoting the interests of our fishery resources -- with a special place in his heart for the anadromous salmonids and striped bass.
Upon retirement he turned his scientific attention to the problems he saw in his beloved sport that negatively impacted fish. He set out with a goal to develop a better way to fly fish -one that would incorporate the art of fly tying, eliminate some of the inconveniences like knots and most importantly minimize our impact upon the fishery resource. The result is the Moffitt Angling System.
